Unlike imitation belts, which may stretch or break, genuine Kirby belts are accurately sized and designed to work seamlessly with the belt lifter helping protect both your machine and your carpets. Directions:How to change the belt on your Kirby system:Remove the Power Nozzle from the unit. Rotate the Belt Lifter clockwise until the green arrows align.Unlock the Rug Plate by releasing the two latches located at the rear of the Power Nozzle. Pull up on the rear edge and remove the Rug Plate.Remove the old belt from the brush roll and discard it. Slide the new belt into place.Check the Brush Roll end caps and ensure the numbers match on both sides. Insert the brush roll back into the Power Nozzle.Note: One end of the brush roll is larger and will only fit in one direction.Make sure the belt is centered on the brush roll.Reinstall the Rug Plate by positioning it at the front of the bumper first, then pulling it over the rear. Secure it by fastening both latches.Rotate the Belt Lifter counterclockwise until the red arrows align. This allows the belt to engage with the internal hook.Reattach the Power Nozzle to the unit.Turn the Belt Lifter clockwise again until the green arrows align.Power on the unit and verify that the Brush Roll Indicator Light is illuminated.
